Not only is the Stampin’ Up catalogue full of great products to buy it’s also a fantastic resource for papercrafting ideas.  I often turn the pages just for inspiration, whether it’s a layout, colour combinations or ways to use embellishments.  It’s my go to idea book!

Another resource for getting the creative juices flowing is challenges. This week I thought I would kick off my creating using the Casing the Catty Sunday Challenge #CT 272 which just happens to be flowers this week.

One of the very first stamp sets to catch my eye in the 2020-21 Annual Catalogue was the Jar of Flowers.  In fact I love the whole Flowers for Every Season suite featured on pages 10 & 11 – especially the patterned paper featuring bright floral imagery as well as generic patterns on the reverse side, in all of the new 2020-22 In Colours.

My card for the #CTC272 challenge uses both the Jar of Flowers stamp set and the designer series paper.

#CTC272 jar of flowers

I’ve used a style of card called a “recessed panel” which is great for showcasing the gorgeous floral paper.  The flowers were stamped using black memento ink, coloured using Stampin’ Blends in the new In Colours and then fussy cut.  The cute little mason jar has a coordinating punch which makes it easy.  As usual I couldn’t bypass a bit of bling and used some of the new magenta madness enamel dots to finish off.

You can learn more about how to make “recessed panel” cards in this video from my Saturday Stamping Facebook Live on 30 May 2020.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Happy Stamping
