Ever since I ran my Glitter technique class early this month I’ve been obsessed with it.  No kidding I’ve been blinging up everything in sight.  Since it’s a while since I’d scrapped anything I decided I’d scrap with glitter too.

This page was inspired by a layout I saw at Convention this year by Shannon West from Stampin’ Up!’s home office in the US.  Hers was a christmas layout too.  This photo of my oldest son has been stored in one of those ugly cardboard folders they give you when you get “Santa” photos done at your local shopping centre so I decided it was time it had a page of it’s own.

I used some retired chipboard letters, lots of heat and stick and then gold glitter.  I also glittered the brad holding the “first” tag on my star as well as another red one at the start of the ribbon ruffle (which you could see if it wasn’t for the ribbon lol).  You can’t really tell from the photo but the central red cardstock panel has been embossed with the “petals a plenty” embossing folder and then sprayed with shimmer paint (made into a mist by mixing it with rubbing alcohol).  It is really very shimmery (is that a real word) in real life.

The chipboard star was sponged with “Poppy Parade” classic ink, sprayed with shimmer mist and then I added a coat of crystal effects.  Once it was dry there was a very nice subtle shimmer…..more than you can say for the rest of the page.

I used the ornament punch and some of the lined paper from the “Newsprint” DSP to create my journalling tags.  I didn’t need much room to write, the picture says it all.

I was really happy with the end result especially since it’s been a long time since I scrapped 12 x 12 and I was very rusty.

Happy Stamping
